Told Ya

On the way home from class today I saw the remains of a lantern (and the fire it started) at the exact point on the road where I took the picture of the moon last night.
Here is an excerpt from the Bangkok Post- "143 people died and 1,595 were injured from road accidents on the second day of the 'Seven Dangerous Days of New Year' from December 30 to January 5, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation under the Ministry of Interior.
1,478 road accidents were reported on Wednesday, and the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima had the highest number of road fatalities with eight. On the first day of the 'Seven Dangerous Days of New Year', six died and 635 were wounded."
More than half of the fatalities typically involve a motorcycle, and half or so normally involve alcohol, although I suspect that percentage is higher at this time of year and Songkran, another party holiday.

Back at the Farm, this one came to rest in the back yard in fromt of the chicken/duck house.

An example of Seng Pa's handiwork. Everyone gets a bowl of rice, and there is typically a soup of some sort to add liquid to the mix (at top). Today there was an omelet of some sort with lots of fresh garlic and oregano, and some hot pepper to boot (tasted a bit like pizza) and mixed veggies and fried chicken (not normal). Usually, everything goes on the rice, but I ate the chicken separately.
